Michele Rapisardi was an Italian history, genre and portrait painter. Nothing is known about his training. From 1843, he was a member of the Accademia di San Luca in Rome and, in 1846, he was awarded a prize by the Congregazione Virtuosi al Pantheon. Rapisardi moved to Florence in 1847 and from the 1860s, he first became a member and then professor of the local Academy. His legacy consists of about 155 paintings, some of which are still in situ in churches, others can be found in Italian museums.
