Angiolo Romagnoli moved from rural Tuscany to Florence at a young age and enrolled at the Accademia di Belle Arti there. He exhibited his first paintings in Turin and Florence in 1880. At the beginning of his career, Romagnoli worked mainly as a copyist, and later specialised in landscape and genre painting. Together with other painters, he frescoed several public buildings in his home town of Borgo San Lorenzo, including a theatre and an industrial museum.
