After the Olympic Games in Los Angeles in 1932, Vanity Fair portrayed five female swimmers, all of whom holding various records, in an article called Ladies From Mount Olympus. Two of them were Eleanor Holm and Helene Madison, whom Edward Steichen photographed standing (Madison) and sitting (Holm) on a diving board, although neither of them was actually a diver. Both won gold medals in their swimming disciplines in 1932.
