- Description:
- Neo-Louis XV style Upholstered back and seat, upholstered in fabric, with exposed wood. Top of the back carved with clashing scrolls and foliage. Moving belt decorated in the middle with a stylised shell and foliage. Cambered legs with flowers at the top and scrolls at the bottom. Research carried out as part of the ‘Frontiers of Independence’ exhibition at the Dräi Eechelen Museum (11-06-2015 to 22-05-2016) has enabled us to trace the provenance of the chairs from the Château de Walferdange. They were made by cabinetmaker Pierre Moris in Rue Louvigny between 1843 and 1845. Similar chairs can be found in the Chambre des Députés.
