- Description:
- An eclectic-style buffet by Henri Hübsch. The upper part of the buffet is decorated in gilded metal. At the top center, in a wooden band decorated in gold, is a peasantry. In a field in front of a small village, two horses are pulling a plough, guided by a farmer. The two doors in the upper section are decorated with gold geometric and plant motifs. Inserted between these gilded decorations are glass plates in different colors (blue, green, dark brown). The lower part of the sideboard is also richly decorated, but this time it is not gilded. Most of the decoration is in wood in high relief. Each door shows a woman's head surrounded by different foods (strawberries, redcurrants, apples, pears, cherries, hazelnuts, wheat). The handles of the two drawers stand out from the general decor, which is kept more in organic, flowing forms. The handles are geometrically shaped, more angular than the rest of the cabinet's decoration. Both sides are decorated with fish in a seal-shaped emblem. The upper and lower parts of the cabinet are separated by a slab of beige marble framed by a band of gilded metal, fixed with rivets of the same gold color.
