Giacomo Cambruzzi was an Italian portrait painter of the 18th century. Little is known about his life. He was an esteemed portraitist who painted in oil and pastel. He also produced a number of miniature portraits. Cambruzzi worked in Genoa, Milan and Venice, as well as at the courts of Vienna, Munich, Cologne, Versailles and Madrid. Between 1775 and 1777, he stayed in England, where he also worked at the royal court. During this time, he exhibited two times portraits at the Royal Academy. Back in Italy, Grand Duke Ferdinando de' Medici appointed him a member of the Accademia di Belle Arti and asked him to donate a self-portrait to the Uffizi. Despite his success and productivity, Cambruzzi's work had no significant influence on subsequent generations of painters.
