Linda Joan Martin is the second daughter of Edward Steichen’s daughter Mary. Linda Joan was born on the 4th of July, 1928. There are several photos of Linda with different dogs over the years. It seems as if Steichen documented his granddaughter growing up in these photographs. 

Here, Steichen used an unusual worm’s-eye view. Linda was either standing on a small hill, or Steichen was lying down in the grass to photograph his granddaughter.
