Treasure from Echternach (1938)

Creation: after 1656

This treasure trove comes from the house at 24 Place du Marché, purchased by Mr Decker-Müller. During renovation work, mason Nic. Welter, having removed a wall and its foundation, discovered fourteen gold coins hidden under a stone in the lower row. Above the coins lay the skeleton of a fairly young child.

The most recent coin bears the date 1656.
