to our work, and we didn’t have an access to theirs. We
were joined by other artists, and some time later, a group
of Parisians started to attach meaning to what we were
doing. Supports/Surfaces became theory driven, and
started to impose rules. That is where I distanced myself
from it. I don’t like people telling me what to do. I don’t
like politics. I want to create. I want to be free.“
