MUSEUM EDUCATION SERVICE
The National Museum for History and Fine Arts offers the
public the use of its Education Service, the purpose of
which is to redefine the educational function of the museum
and to make people recognize the museum as a teaching-
place outside school. This activity mainly includes the fol-
lowing subjects: pre- and protohistory, national history, sSo-
cial and economic history, religion, art and ethnology.
On demand, the Education Service also organizes visits of
the different departments of the museum as well as of the
various temporary exhibitions which are presented
throughout the whole year. These visits are free (every day
sxcept Saturdays and Sundays, also in English).

TAVERN OF THE MUSEUM
After having visited the museum, you should have a drink at
the tavern of the museum. The tavern bears the historical
name ”De Wälle Mann” (”At the Wild Man”). From the ter-
race one has a unique view of the suburbs of the city.
One enters the tavern in Wiltheim Street, but there are two
other entries in room 8 (ground floor) and in room 28 (cellar)
of the department of Decorative and Popular Arts. The
tavern is open every day, except on Mondays, from 10 a.m.
to 7 p.m.
