Chest and side-board with recessed upper part. 
Louis XIll wardrobe and chest. Insignia of the 
former guilds of Luxembourg-City. 
Local Louis XIV wardrobes. Renaissance chests 
(17h century). Copies of two paintings represent- 
ing the siege of Luxembourg in June 1684 and a 
view of the town seen from the Mansfeld Baths 
(1684). View of the two Benedictine abbeys of Alt- 
and Neumünster (painting of the 18 century). 
ROOM FOR TEMPORARY EXHIBITIONS — 
TAVERN OF THE MUSEUM (see page 47) 
CHAPEL (17° and 18® centuries) 
Chapel with choir-stalls (15/16 centuries) from 
the former Franciscan convent in Luxembourg; 
altar from 1759. Wooden statues of saints (local 
workshops. 17° and 18t centuries). 
WEDDING FURNITURE 
Wedding chests and armoires decorated with 
heart and flower motives. Copper and brass warm- 
ing pans. 
”KÄERCHER STUFF” (18® century) 
Rural living-room of the 18° century with wooden 
panelling, an alcove-bed and a cupboard with a 
sast iron plate In its lower part (”Täkeschäf”).

URBAN KITCHEN (16 to 18 centuries) 
Kitchen with a corner-fireplace (16 century). 
Three-armed pot-hanger (16/17 century), iron 
srown used for smoking meat, etc. 
URBAN KITCHEN (18 century) 
The living-room (”Stuff”) situated close to the 
kitchen was heated by a cast iron plate which was 
enclosed in the wall separating these two rooms. 
Cupboard from 1750 with a cast iron plate in its 
'ower part. 
STORE-ROOM (”SPENNCHEN”) AND 
HOUSEHOLD UTENSILS 
Besides several straw-baskets, which contained 
flour, beans, etc., this room shows the most impor- 
tant household effects which served to produce 
basic victuals such as bread, butter and cheese. 
salted meat, sauerkraut. etc.
