Gesualdo Ferri was an Italian painter, restorer and art collector. He studied first in Florence, then in Rome. Ferri frescoed several churches in Tuscany. In 1771, he restored the early Renaissance frescoes by Masolino and Masaccio in the Brancacci Chapel of the Church of Santa Maria del Carmine in Florence. Ferri also restored a painting by Rubens that the Uffizi had purchased. From 1785, he taught nude painting and colour design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence. Ferri was also an art dealer. He sold, for instance, a Madonna with Child by Pinturicchio to the Uffizi.
