Ferdinando Folchi was an Italian painter and restorer of the 19th century. He studied at the academy of fine arts in Florence from 1834 to 1846 and then undertook extended study trips to Rome and Venice. Folchi mainly painted histories and religious subjects. He was a prolific painter who produced numerous frescoes and altarpieces for churches throughout Tuscany. Folchi also decorated several palazzi and theatres. Furthermore, the government commissioned him to appraise and restore works of art.
