Mrs. August Belmont (Eleanor Robson)

Eleanor Robson (1879-1979) was a successful stage actress, but retired when she married August Belmont (1853-1924) in 1910. After she quit acting, she became a philanthropist and dedicated her long life to charity, founding many charitable organisations herself. 

Steichen’s portrait was published in the December 1931 issue of Vogue.
