Little is known about Benedetto della Torres' life. Commission documents confirm that he was active in Naples between 1765 and 1775. Several of his paintings and frescoes are still to be seen in Neapolitan churches. He also supplied seven cartoons for tapestries in the Palazzo Reale between 1768 and 1773.
