Mosè Bianchi attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Milan. Thanks to a scholarship, he could afford to live in Ferrara and Florence from 1865 to 1868 and to devote himself to studying Renaissance art. In Florence, he also painted a series of vedute, which he exhibited on his return to Milan in 1868. Bianchi specialised mainly in histories and portraits. In 1871, he painted representations of the four evangelists for a church in Corbetta near Milan. The Milan Art Exhibition of 1872 gave him his breakthrough as a painter. In the following years, he took part in numerous art exhibitions throughout Italy. From 1891 onwards, he no longer painted for competitions and salons, but accepted exclusively private commissions.
