FOCUS ON ART
You may even start to like some artworks that did not
appeal to you before.
AN OPPORTUNITY TO EXTEND OUR HORIZON
AND ENRICH OUR KNOWLEDGE
Each gaze at a work of art is different from all the
others. By bringing them together and talking about
them, we widen and enrich our own knowledge. The
artwork changes our gaze, which in turn changes the
artwork. Every new meaning unlocked by someone
else is conveyed back to us, changing our perception,
the meaning of the artwork for each one of us, and the
next gaze that rests upon it. And so on.
We sometimes speak of Renc’Art as a family, because
we have some regular guests. But this is an open,
welcoming and adventurous family. We like new angles
and viewpoints. We would love to know what you think
of our artworks, what you see in them, what they make
you think of or how they make you feel. Come and join
our conversation, come and engage with our artworks!
Add your gaze, change ours, and let our gaze change
yours! The old adage ‘the more the merrier’ really
applies.
Vera Herold
Renc’Art – Artwork of the Month takes place on

visits are free, as is the Museum’s entrance, and
last 20 to 30 minutes. See pages 14 to 19 for more
details concerning the artworks and languages.
