dessin, où il remplace Bogaert de Malines, ancien élève de David, 
qui remplissait ces fonctions depuis 1821. Obtient en 1826 un 
certificat de capacité à l’Académie d’Anvers. Voyages d’études 
à Paris, à Bruxelles. Visite l’Allemagne et la Hollande, où il 
exécute des portraits remarqués. Féconde carrière de portraitiste 
à Luxembourg. Peint de nombreux paysages du pays. Publie 
en 1818, 1829, 1831 des vues de la ville. Collabore en 1834 à 
l'Album de Liez. Edite en 1857 son Album Pittoresque du 
Grand-Duché de Luxembourg. Ecrit en 1857 un traité du 
dessin linéaire.
