James Ensor 1860-1949

26.02.2010 - 30.05.2010

To mark the 150th anniversary of the birth of James Ensor (1860-1949), the Maison du Grand-Duché de Luxembourg in Brussels and the Musée national d'histoire et d'art in Luxembourg are devoting a major exhibition to the engraved work of this major figure of modern art. With almost 200 works on display, visitors will discover all the facets of the artist's graphic creation. The themes are just as varied as in his paintings: the artist tackled landscapes as well as portraits, still lifes, fantasy and religious subjects.
