The MNHA presents an important collection of works on paper by Alfred Kubin from the holdings of the Upper Austrian State Museums and the Upper Austrian State Gallery, Linz. A writer ('Die andere Seite') and a draughtsman of rare virtuosity, Kubin is one of the masters of 20th-century fantasy art, leaving behind a vast and varied oeuvre characterised by the angel of the bizarre and populated by 'monsters born from the sleep of reason'.
