From Manessier to Wim Delvoye - The modern art collection of the Grand Ducal House, assembled by Grand Duchess Joséphine-Charlotte

10.05.2003 - 29.06.2003

For almost forty years, Grand Duchess Joséphine-Charlotte set about building up this collection, of which the Musée national d'histoire et d'art de Luxembourg is exhibiting a representative selection of 108 works. Influenced in particular by her grandmother, Queen Elisabeth of the Belgians, Grand Duchess Joséphine-Charlotte was initially guided by Joseph-Emile Muller, an art critic and curator at the Musée national d'histoire et d'art, but soon established herself as a well-informed collector.
