RÉIMERVILLA ECHTERNACH
A new look for the Roman villa
Whether you’re a history buff, an architecture enthusiast or simply looking for a fun day out with the family, be sure to stop
by the Roman villa in Echternach.
Did you know that our cultural institute also ma-
nages a magnificent Roman villa nestled by Echter-
nach lake? This little gem features archaeological
remains, a lush garden and a visitor centre. Recently,
the villa has undergone a rebranding, breathing new
life into this historical site and enhancing the visitor
experience.
A NEW LOOK
The new logo of the villa reflects its unique architec-
tural features and echoes the design principles that
guided its builders. By incorporating elements of
Roman architecture into the visual identity, the insti-
tute pays homage to the villa’s origins while making
it accessible and appealing to visitors today.
The rebranding of the Roman villa – now known
as Réimervilla Echternach – is also a thoughtful
integration into the MNAHA family, which includes
the Nationalmusée um Fëschmaart and the Musée
Dräi Eechelen. The villa’s visual identity aligns with
the broader aesthetic of the other museums under
the institute’s management, ensuring a cohesive and
recognisable brand.
IMPROVED WAYFINDING
One of the changes accompanying the rebranding is
the enhancement of the visitor centre. Recognising
the importance of ease and enjoyment in the visitor
experience, the institute has improved wayfinding
throughout the villa. Clear signage guides visitors
through the site, ensuring they can easily navigate
and fully appreciate the villa.
New booklets for our English and Dutch-spea-
king visitors are also on offer, which cover different
aspects of the villa: the rooftop view, architectural
features, daily life and the garden. These themed
tours offer a structured yet flexible way for visitors
to explore the villa, catering to different interests and
allowing for a deeper understanding of the site’s
historical context.
